FFSC is looking for it’s next Junior Board
Positions Available:
President
Responsible for leading Junior board members during club sponsored events, such as Kris Kringle Parade, Test Sessions, Club Shows, fundraising. Leadership qualities are a must have! The President should be able to assign roles to Junior board members at events. Should be able to work with the FFSC board to learn what assistance is needed & where & help organize events. The President should be an advanced skater, a good role model on and off the ice. The President should be able to represent the needs of their fellow skaters and be able to convey new ideas to the board, whether it be ideas for events, shows, fundraising and much more. The Junior President is a role model for all skaters, should be able to present ideas that include skaters of all levels and promote unity across all genres of skating. This is a very important role that requires good character that carries great responsibility.
The President of the Junior Board should be a Junior or Senior in high school, member of FFSC, an active & present skater at Skate Frederick & be able to volunteer at least two test sessions a year, and be available and willing to participate in FFSC Sponsored events & Newsletter
Vice -President
Responsible for assisting the Club President in implementing roles during club sponsored events.
Leadership qualities are a must have! The Vice-President should be able to help implement roles to junior board members at events. Should be able to work with the Junior President in organizing ideas presenting them to the FFSC Board. The Vice President should be a good role model, on and off the ice, should be able to represent the needs of their fellow skaters and be able to help convey & implement new ideas to the board, whether it be ideas for events, shows, & fundraising.
The Junior Vice-President should be in high school, a member of FFSC an active & present skater at Skate Frederick be able to volunteer at least two test sessions a year and be available and willing to participate in FFSC Sponsored events & Newsletter.
Social Chair
Responsible for assisting the FFSC board with posting on Facebook, creating a new Instagram account for FFSC. Assisting with keeping social media accounts active with skater recognition, skating tips, skating news, good mojo quotes and sayings, healthy habits and promoting club events, & positivity among their peers.
Inclusiveness is a must have quality!- The Social Chair should be able keep an active pulse on club events, and news in the skating world, for example, new skating rules from USFS, Upcoming shows or competitions, etc. The Social Chair should be a good role model, on and off the ice, should be able to promote positivity, a healthy mindset, recognize achievements of fellow skaters & promote unity among all club members. Note: FFSC board members will approve posts prior to publishing.
The Junior Social Chair should be in high school, a member of FFSC an active & present skater at Skate Frederick, be able to volunteer at least two test sessions a year and be available and willing to participate in FFSC Sponsored events & Newsletter
Secretary
Responsible for assisting the FFSC board and social chair with posting on Facebook, Updating the club website, and updating the Skate Frederick FFSC Club Bulletin Board.
Creativity is a must have quality- The Secretary should bring creativity & excellent writing skills, be able work with the social chair on keeping an active pulse on club events, and news in the skating world, assist with skater recognition. The Social Chair should be a good role model, on and off the ice, should be able to promote positivity, a healthy mindset, recognize achievements from follow skaters & promote unity among all club members. FFSC board members will approve posts prior to publishing.
The Junior Secretary should be in high school, a member of FFSC an active & present skater at Skate Frederick be able to volunteer at least two test sessions a year and be available and willing to participate in FFSC Sponsored events & Newsletter.
General Requirements of all Junior Board Members
**Must be an FFSC Member
**Must be able to volunteer 2 test sessions- Can be in person or contributing in preparation of.
**Must be able & willing to participate/attend in most club sponsored events (if you cannot attend some, there are other ways to contribute)
**These positions are for High School Students & contribute towards volunteer hours.
**Their home rink should be Skate Frederick.
**Must be able to prepare a campaign Flyer & promote themselves now through 9/15/24 when voting will begin. Campaigning can be passing out flyers, posting a video, posting on the club bulletin, & off ice introductions. Posts must be about the campaigner only & what you have to offer -this is not a competition; it is an opportunity to be a positive influence among your peers.
Small tokens such as candy, cookies, waters/juice or stickers are allowed, nothing more.
**Must be able to let loose and HAVE FUN!!!!

Coach Cathy’s favorite skating move used to be her double axel! Now, her favorite skill to teach is jumps and skating skills!

Landing your very first Axel is an accomplishment that should be celebrated! Skaters who have landed a single or double axel will be featured on our Axel Club Board with a Gold Star (Green Star for double axel). Submissions can be made via the FFSC FB Page or email FFSCGeneral@gmail.com.

The Frederick Figures Skating Club is committed to creating a safe environment for
members’ physical, emotional, and social development and ensuring that it promotes an
environment free of misconduct.
Frederick FSC Code of Conduct: Skaters
The following codes of conduct are expected from all members of the US Figure Skating and Frederick Figure Skating Club. This includes at competitions, training camps, exhibitions, test sessions, and practices.
As FFSC members, we agree to uphold the guidelines set forth below:
1). I will always act in in a manner that is fair, ethical, and shows good sportsmanship in my dealings with others.
2). I will abide by all the rules set forth by US Figure Skating, FFSC, and Skate Frederick.
3). I will always act in a manner that is positive and and not detrimental toward others.
4.) I will be proud to be part of the FFSC and support my fellow skaters of all skating disciplines.
Frederick FSC Code of Conduct: Parents
The Frederick Figure Skating Club is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for members’ physical, emotional, and social development and ensuring that it promotes an environment free of misconduct. Parents of skaters will:
1). Encourage good sportsmanship by their actions, demonstrating positive support for all skaters, coaches, and officials at every practice, competition and session.
2). Place the emotional and physical well-being of their child and others ahead of their own desire to win 3). Encourage their child to skate in a safe and healthy environment by maintaining a respectful and courteous attitude toward others.
4). Teach their child that doing their best is more important than winning.
5). Will not ridicule, bully, blame, or yell at their child or other skaters, coaches, officials, or volunteers in response to a poor performance or for any other reason.
6). Teach their child to treat other skaters, coaches, fans, volunteers, officials, and rink staff with respect, regardless of race, creed, color, sexual orientation, or ability.
7). Take action and report any acts of bullying, harassment, or abuse
8). Be a positive role model for their child and others.
9). Will respect their child’s coach and refrain from “side line” coaching their child or other skaters.
10). Will respect the decision of officials, their authority and decision making during competitions and test sessions and teach their child to do the same.
11). Will show appreciation and recognize the importance of volunteers and club officials.
12). Will fulfill their responsibility to help their child with membership, special projects, competitions, and test sessions.
13). Agree to report to the appropriate entity any SafeSport or Code of Conduct violation that they observe.
14). Become familiar with the rules of US Figure Skating and teach their child accordingly.
15.) Will support and respect all skaters and their right to participate.
